Solutions for protected natural areas

Tourism has a strong potential to support the local economy, but if there is no adequate management it can negatively influence the preservation of the heritage on which its activity is based, as well as on the visitor's own experience, and therefore, on the viability of the destination and its companies. Protected areas are places especially sensitive to tourism that have become first class tourist destinations.

Consultancy for protected areas in the implementation of projects to:

  • Communicate the natural and cultural values ​​of the protected area.
  • Awareness of users and visitors about the fragility of the protected area's resources.

From 2017 I help the Montgrí, Medes Islands and the Baix Ter Natural Park in the implementation of the principles of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS).
The Natural Park was credited as a CETS partner in 2016 and from that moment on, it works to make tourism an ally in conservation. In 2018 the Park started phase II with the involvement of more than 30 companies that are committed to responsible tourism.
The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism is a management model to promote tourism that meets the principles of sustainable development led by Europarc.
